The Sea2Sky Trail Run Challenge

UPDATES

  • in 2024 we revised route making our trail run more or less 100% trails. Instead of running along the Summit Road from Evans Pass as in past years runners will now take on the Crater Rim Track to Godley Head. It’s harder but more scenic.

  • Team option - teams will be 2 people with one runner doing leg 1 to Godley Head (approximately 8.5km) before the second team member takes on the leg from Godley Head to Scarborough (approximately 7.5km). Runners will be transported to/from Godley Head by bus (the bus will not come back from Godley Head until all cyclists are off the course at 10:30am).

Take on this stunning 16km run up the Captain Thomas track to the top of Evans Pass, along the Crater Rim Track to Godley head where you will join the triathletes and duathletes for the beautiful Godley Head track. Finally you will have the slog over Scarborough Hill via the Taylors Mistake track, then down the Scarborough track to the finish at the clocktower.

An aid station will be available at Godley Head and Taylors Mistake.

TEAMS - those doing the 2 person team will be directed to do their change over near to the transition area for triathletes. The first runner transfers the timing chip to the second runner. They will then wait to get the bus back to Scarborough.

CUT OFF TIMES: There will be a cut off time off at Godley Head of 1hr 45 minutes. This point is ~9km into the run but includes the long climb to the top of Evans Pass. In past years everyone has made the cut off but if you were to walk the whole way you would not make the time.
